Hardgrove Grindability Standards
We produce Primary HGI standards using equipment tracable to the original HGI equipment used by Hardgrove at B&W. Only Vanguard Solution, Inc. and PSU manufacture Primary HGI standards. All other HGI standards are secondary standards and are subject to increased uncertainty.
HGI standards are sold in sets of four. The sets contain 2 kg each of 40, 60, 80, and 100 HGI coals for calibration. Our studies of standard coal degradation shows that our standards for HGI are good for up to 36 months.
